Elaine Marilyn (Kuemerle) Jarvis age 88, of Hartville, OH earned her heavenly rewards on September 1, 2026. Elaine served as the ABC Ohio Region Board President in 2006, was an Ohio Leadership Academy graduate and served as the Children’s Minister at Full Devotion First Baptist Church of Canton.
Elaine attended Kent State University, where she met her husband, and received a bachelor degree in Art Education. She later received a master degree in outdoor education from Akron University. She was an art teacher at Akron Public Schools, Betty Jane Elementary School for 37 years and received the Akron Teacher of the Year award in 1991 and retired in 1999. She married the love of her life C. Lee Jarvis in 1959 and they shared 67 wonderful years together.
Elaine loved the lord and was devoted to his service. She was the Children’s ministry director at Full Devotion - First Baptist Church for 25 years. She held various clubs including Chickadee Garden Club, Bible adventure Club and art classes for the children. Elaine studied at the Ohio Leadership Academy and received a certificate in Theology, Biblical Studies and Church Leadership. She was very involved in Camp Church Koinonia serving as president for 5 years and also a camp counselor along with her husband Lee.
Elaine’s greatest joy was her family. She found happiness in many things including being a grandma and “GiGi”, watching her great- grandchild grow up, Hallmark movies, talking with her friends and bird watching out her window.
Mrs. Jarvis is preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Arlene Kuemerle and brother Gerald Kuemerle.
She is survived by the love of her life C. Lee Jarvis, Son Jeffrey (Juliette) Jarvis, Daughter Tammy Jarvis-Pinkos, Grandchildren Tristan Jarvis, Taryn (Cody) Wilson, Tj Pinkos, Benjamin Jarvis and Claire Jarvis, Great Grandchild Elaina Wilson, another one on the way and her sister Karen (Mike) Gaiffe.
