We have an opportunity that could be a blessing to your congregation this coming Advent Season. As you may know, we are partnered with many others across North America in the Ascent Movement. In addition to it’s focus on re-evangelizing North America, many mission agencies in North America are also working together to advance the gospel around the globe. For this upcoming Advent Season, Ascent has put together the Advent Journey and it is a resource that is timely and inspiring that connects personal devotion to global mission.
CLICK TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE ASCENT ADVENT JOURNEY
The season of Advent invites us to pause, re-center, and fix our eyes on the profound truth that God is near—near to our struggles, our longings, and our hope. Through daily devotional reflections, the Advent Journey leads us to the heart of the Incarnation while pointing us outward toward how we can carry Christ’s presence into our communities and world. In addition to the devotional resource, each day highlights short, powerful stories of God’s work around the world, reminding us of the tangible ways God is working through His people and giving us an opportunity to generously support this vital work.
A few important details to note. First, the daily devotional resource is available in BOTH electronic and print format. The electronic format is available to individuals that sign-up on the Ascent Advent page as well as churches that express their desire to participate in the Advent Journey by registering their interest. The printable version can also be made available to those churches who register their interest on the Ascent Advent page. There will be no charge given for the printable version. You will be given a file that you can print as many copies as you wish.
Second, you do not need to participate in the Advent Offering in order to participate in the devotional journey. While the global partners of Ascent would surely welcome sending along a gift to support the mission, it is not required. The Advent Devotional Journey is a gift in the season of giving. All of this information and more can be found on the Ascent Advent page.
I encourage our leaders, pastors, and churches to explore this journey, settle your souls into Christ’s presence, and participate alongside brothers and sisters across North America.
