Guest speaker Rev. Katie Oskin had a calling upon her life from an early age. Although she has faced the challenges of a life lived with Cystic Fibrosis and many other medical difficulties, it has given her the ability to help others, especially in their time of need and trauma. The Lord called her to give people hope and blessed her with the gifts of teaching, shepherding, and worship ministries. Katie is passionate about helping people learn about and meet Jesus: from outreach ministries to youth ministries, community engagement, and much more.

However, Katie doesn't do any of this alone. Not only does she serve her Lord and Savior, but she does this alongside her husband, whom she met at Ashland Theological Seminary. They are both ordained American Baptist Ministers who were called not only to serve the Lord but to do it side by side. Their gifts are complementary, working best in tandem. Ministry can be hard and challenging, but it is also rewarding, especially when your helpmate is there by your side all the way.

Katie and her husband are currently the Pastors of First Baptist Church in Hubbard, Ohio, where they have served for 14 years. Katie & Luke live in the country and wouldn’t have it any other way. Katie enjoys the simple pleasures of life from sculpting in polymer clay, to reading science fiction and fantasy trilogies, working in her garden, growing things from seeds, tending her many house plants, learning to cook new & exciting meals for her husband, and pampering her dog, cat, & aquarium pet.
