Pastor Emeritus Roberson Passes

LCDR Ronald Lee Roberson CHC USN (Ret.), age 82, of Mount Gilead, died Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2009.  Ronald was Pastor Emeritus at First Baptist, Mt. Gilead and very well known in our region.  Ronald was born in New Albany, Indiana on April 1, 1927.  He was a graduate of Campbellsville High School in Kentucky, Georgetown (Baptist) College in Kentucky, and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He was ordained into the ministry at Campbellsville Baptist Church, his home church on Wednesday, May 11, 1949, and he was one of the first ministers to go out from his home church.

Edna Delores Pincham Passes

Edna Delores Pincham, died of cancer Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley.

Edna was born in Quitman, Ga., on Sept. 4, 1936, the daughter of Deacon Will Miller and Effie Jackson Miller.

Edna married Houston Howard Pincham, a Korean War veteran and steel worker, on June 1, 1957, at the church where they met and courted, Third Baptist Church of Youngstown. Together, they served actively in many capacities in the church.

Rev. Rachel Lee Passes

It is with great sadness that we report the recent death of our sister and colleague in ministry - Rev. Rachel Lee.  Rachel died suddenly of a stroke on Tuesday morning, December 30.  Rachel served the American Baptist Churches faithfully for many years, most recently as the co-interim pastor with husband Alvin of the First Baptist Church of Middletown and as the ABC/Ohio Minister of Congregational Development for the southwest area.

She leaves behind her husband Alvin, a son and daughter, several grandchildren, and many friends.  We’re grieved because of our loss, but her “home going” makes the kingdom of heaven an even richer place.  Please keep Alvin and their family in your prayers as they deal with this sudden loss.  Rachel will be deeply missed by all. 

Visitation was held on Friday evening, January 2 with the funeral on Saturday morning, January 3 at First Baptist Church, 4500 Riverview Ave., Middletown, Ohio  45042.
