American Baptist Churches of Ohio

The 185th Annual Gathering of the American Baptist Churches of Ohio will be held Thursday to Saturday, October 7 to 9, 2010.  This year’s event will be held in Columbus, Ohio.  We will again this year use Crowne Plaza-Columbus North for all of our events and activities.  Once again, this will be a wonderful opportunity for our American Baptist family here in Ohio to come together for three days of renewed friendships, family fun, worship, learning and encouragement.  It is also a wonderful way to invite friends and guests to learn more about who we are as American Baptists.  The ABC/Ohio Program Team and others have been working on this year’s Annual Gathering for many months with great anticipation of how God will bless us during our three days together.  Our theme this year is “Worship: A Sacrifice of Praise” based on Hebrews 13:15-16.  Our keynote speaker this year is Rev. Want to see what you missed?  Want to share what you learned with your congregation?  A DVD featuring sessions with our Keynote Speaker Rev. David Putman is now available.  The four presentations by Rev. October 17, 2009 - Saturday Morning Report

After an enjoyable continental breakfast, we gathered a final time as "The Remnant" as Rev. Larry Swain described the group.  Rev. David Putman led our final seminar.  He started by saying, "we have to get 'Jesus right' before we can advance the church."  He then put this in practical terms by looking at ideas to change the way people think about church.  The goal is to break down the walls and redefining the church not as an organization, but as an organism - truly recognizing that we are the body of Christ.  It was a fascinating close to a wonderful week.  God truly blessed us in many ways!  We now look forward to the 185th Annual Gathering which will be held October 7 to 9, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza Columbus North (same as this year).  Plan now to be a part!
