Face to Face is Coming! February 25-26, 2011

Face to Face is a day and a half event which brings clergy, church search committees and seminary seniors in the ordination process together in one location for a series of “first time interviews.” The next event will be held February 25 and 26, 2011 at New Castle Indiana First Baptist Church. The registration deadline for Face to Face is January 24, 2011 (discounts for registration by January 10). Church search committees are assigned an interviewing space and pastors move from interview to interview. There are ten interview slots, which may be scheduled during the event. Interviews are scheduled based on a preference request, the ratio of search committees to candidates registered for the event and the matching process prior to the event. Participants are scheduled with churches or clergy who have requested to meet with them and also scheduled with other matches that have been determined by the matching team based on interests, experience, gender and other background information. Something About Our Keynote Speaker: Rev. Dr. Carolyn L Gordon

ABC-Ohio is blessed to welcome Rev. Dr. Carolyn L. Gordon as our keynote speaker for the 2010 Annual Gathering in Columbus. She joined the Fuller faculty in 2007 as associate professor of communication and chairs the Department of Preaching and Communication. She came to Fuller from Central Baptist Theological Seminary, where she served for five years as associate professor of church and community; she has also taught communication and public speaking in a variety of contexts.

ABC/Ohio Church Leadership Conference Report

The 2010 ABC/Ohio Church Leadership Conference took place on Saturday, May 1. The theme was "Reinventing Worship" and featured conference leader Rev. Brad Berglund. Rev. Berglund has been a pastor, church musician and worship leader for over twenty-five years and brought his experience in leadership, spiritual growth and creative expression in a worship setting to the conference.

Want to see what you missed? Want to share what you learned with your congregation? A DVD featuring sessions with our Keynote Speaker Rev. David Putman is now available. The four presentations by Rev. Putman were digitally recorded during the Annual Gathering and are a perfect way to learn about "Breaking Down the Walls."
