The Board of Regional Ministries of the American Baptist Churches of Ohio is comprised of twenty people including five officers who are elected by delegates to the ABC Ohio Annual Gathering in October. The Board of Regional Ministries is responsible for establishing the overall policies and fiscal guidelines for the Region in accordance with its mission statement to “Rise Up and Build Healthy Congregations that Impact the World for Christ.”
The Region Board meets in February, May, September, and November each year. Board members, staff, and other volunteers carry out our ministry through service on various committees and task forces in the Region. Current committees at work are the Association Task Force, the Office of the Future Task Force, and the State Advisory Committee on Ordination (SACO).
The Baptist Foundation, Inc. (BFI), which holds all real property of the region, is also served by the same board members. BFI meets as needed in February, May, and September with an annual meeting held each November.
The Board of Regional Ministries voted in 2015 to begin posting the approved minutes of each meeting online to better inform our ABC of Ohio constituency of the efforts of the board on their behalf. Attachments to the minutes will not be online but are available at our Region office in Granville.
Pastors, church leaders, laity are all invited to complete a Leadership Pool Nomination Form if interested in serving on the Region Board or if you know someone who you would like to nominate to serve (with the nominee's permission, of course).
We ask for your prayers for each Region Board member as together they seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in providing governance for the American Baptist Churches of Ohio. Pray for the committee and task force members as they assist the Region in accomplishing various goals.
Please pray also for each Region Staff person as he/she so faithfully provides service and support to the churches, pastors, and ministries of this Region.
